High-quality beef direct to your table, from the heart of cattle country.

About the Whitewater Ranch Family

Whitewater Ranch is a multi-generational, family owned and operated, production agricultural enterprise. Since the inception of our ranch, our herds have been carefully developed to the highest quality by sound management, progressive breeding, and nutritionist-guided, performance-based feeding. Utilizing generational experience along with modern knowledge of Ag Economics, Ag Business and Animal Science from the University of Wyoming, Whitewater’s team of cattlemen and women passionately provide consumers with the highest quality beef these Sandhills can viably support. As ranching professionals, we take seriously the maintenance of our grasslands and wetlands. Practicing responsible grass and soil management, we aggressively combat naturally occurring wind and water erosion and our lands flourish under careful stewardship. With minimal interference, our team manages our herds horseback with generations of working cowboy ethics. This Beef Care and BQA-certified management style produces optimal conditions for low stress translating to premium gains for our cattle herds. For seven generations our family has progressively and responsibly produced more pounds of beef animal protein per acre while utilizing less natural resources than ever before. Not only do we provide cattle for national and global markets, we now offer our product directly to your table.

WELCOME TO WHITEWATER RANCH

Founded in 1884, Whitewater Ranch rests in the rolling Sandhills of Nebraska, one of the most precious ecosystems in the world. For seven generations, we’ve raised our families and our cattle on this vast, unbroken stretch of prairie and wetlands.

Our ranch is proud to be CARE Certified.

CARE Certified products ensure consumers that farms, and ranches are following guidelines specific to Animal Husbandry, Environmental Stewardship People and Community.

We believe in transparency. Once our animals begin the grain finishing process they are no longer qualify to be part of this program. The animals still meet the animal husbandry and environmental requirements. They are finished in a setting that is optimal for gain, growth and marbling. This is done with a nutritionist guided, completely balanced, grain feeding ration.

As faithful stewards of the land for over 135 years, our family carries on a proud tradition of sustainable agriculture. Our pasture-raised cattle flourish across pristine grasslands in the Nebraska Sandhills — an environment uniquely suited for the production of healthy, nutrient-dense, flavorful meat. We’re proud to offer our locally-raised, grass-fed, grain-finished beef direct to consumers across the country.

The Nebraska Sandhills are an expanse of diverse prairies and grass-stabilized sand dunes which stretch across western and central Nebraska. Spanning roughly one-quarter of the state, this region naturally sustains extensive herds of bovine grazing animals — first bison, now beef cattle — which are an integral part of this sensitive and complex ecosystem.

The Sandhills sit above the substantial Ogallala Aquifer — one of the world's largest bodies of fresh water, that offers drinking water and irrigation across eight states. Feeding a system of hundreds of lakes, ponds, and streams, the Ogallala Aquifer is the largest and most intricate wetland ecosystem in America.
